Job Description:
Strong understanding of PLC hardware and software, including programming languages such as PLC Programming, Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens PLCs, Ladder Logic, Mitsubushi, troubleshooting etc.
Proven experience as a PLC Engineer having experience of working on power pack of machines.

About the Role
Laxyo Limited is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to manage and support mechanical maintenance
activities at our operations in Zambia, Africa. The candidate should have practical knowledge of
industrial/mechanical maintenance, particularly equipment involving RBM machines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems
and other rotating/mechanical equipment. The role requires a hands-on approach to preventive, breakdown and
routine maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot RBM machines and associated mechanical systems.
• Monitor and maintain gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, belts and other mechanical components.
• Have working knowledge of hydraulic systems, hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and fittings.
• Identify mechanical faults and carry out necessary repair, replacement and troubleshooting.
• Inspect equipment for abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, overheating and other mechanical issues.
• Assist in dismantling, assembly, alignment and installation of mechanical equipment.
• Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of rotating equipment and machinery.
• Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, breakdowns and spare-parts requirements.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize machine downtime.
• Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely and according to company procedures.
• Support the team in maintaining availability and reliability of plant machinery.
Required Skills & Knowledge
• Good practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance.
• Working knowledge of RBM machines / industrial machinery will be preferred.
• Good understanding of gearboxes and power transmission systems.
• Basic to good knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
• Knowledge of bearings, couplings, shafts, chains, belts and mechanical seals.
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work in a site-based environment in Zambia, Africa.
